Kensington Place Cape Town
Such as the very best guest houses in the region (broadly called the city bowl), Kensington Place is situated on the slopes of this mountain, with timeless town and harbour views. Additionally, it is only a short stroll down the path to Kloof road’s hip restaurants and bars.
Style & personality
Kensington Place manages to be both stylish and timeless; the epitome of understated luxury. Owner Chris upgrades his chambers frequently, and he never puts a foot wrong.
Service & amenities
Despite its small dimensions, support is five-star resort standard. There’s a small pool and courtyard-style backyard with comfortable loungers and day beds with drapes that billow in the breeze.
There are two rooms to choose from — but number 7 like magnificent city views (also it’s a cozy garden place, together with the very best bathroom tub). Room 8 is a personal favourite and number 1 is the only room with a fireplace. If you would like to save cash the normal room is well worth reserving — although it is only a tiny bit smaller.
Food & beverage
Outstanding. There is a full size bar with a superb wine list and cocktail menu. You won’t eat a better breakfast at town (classic eggs Benedict with an ideal hollandaise sauce; creamy scrambled eggs; yummy sautéed mushrooms on toast), and you will eat it whenever you feel like. There is also a limited but superb menu which changes seasonally but may consist of potato rosti topped with asparagus; parmesan soufflé and garden salad; lemon basil pasta; roast chicken and leek pie; beef and chips. The menu is served during the afternoon, anywhere you would like.
Value for cash
