Tivoli Carvoeiro Algarve Resort Carvoeiro
This ticks all the boxes, by an excellent spot on the edge of the cliffs using the stunning limestone stones of the Algarve to seem on, to its proximity to a number of the area’s nicest beaches and restaurants like Benagil or even Caneiros Beach. Faro airport is about 30 minutes’ drive away.
Style & personality
Welcoming and warm using a fresh, uncluttered feel, the lobby has reduced ceilings with enormous glass doors opening out on the Atlantic. Throughout, color tones are mild using a soft dusky blue along with a hot gray interwoven during the white spaces. Interior designers Broadway Malyan have changed a formerly dated and dark resort into a fantasy of lightness and silent, with only the noise of the ocean.
Service & amenities
The support is exceptional, with employees eager to guarantee guest satisfaction. Part of the refurbishment included the debut of a spa using four treatment rooms (two of which can be for couples), that utilize locally produced pottery bowls to get foot soaks and scrubs, including a feeling of place. Products used are Voya.
There’s a sauna, steam room, indoor swimming pool and gym. There’s an immense round swimming pool, with an adjoining child’s pool perched over the sea. At the cover of the cliff, overlooking the sea, is a pergola that’s hugely popular as a wedding venue.
Echoing the tidy, light texture of those public places, the 248 rooms have been decorated in blues and greys with enormous floor-to-ceiling windows facing the Ocean and balconies, in some instances boasting hot tubs. Bathrooms are spacious open plan with all the bedrooms, a branch produced by the basins endorsed with smart mirror panels which could turn to match any side. They are modern in texture with white curved twin basins standing beneath the restroom surface. Walk-in showers are enormous, with great rainfall heads, and conveniences are out of Portuguese manufacturer Castelbel. All rooms have Nespresso machines.
Food & beverage
Three restaurants and three bars, including one from the pool for smoothies and beverages, offer lots of variety. The Mare Bistro, available daily, serves wraps and salads. The Med provides the top of this area’s dishes, such as razor clams or black pork lips with sweet potatoes. The One, that will be available evenings only, provides fine dining room with aplomb, matched professionally by the sommelier with wines. Try out the big scarlet prawns using Algarve coriander and lemon, or grilled red mullet in the Atlantic with roses impressively matched from the sommelier. Buffet breakfast contains fresh pastries, local hams and cheeses, fresh fruits and sexy eggs, bacon and sausages in serving channels.
The Azur Bar cleans out on a patio overlooking the pool and sea beyond and has a superb selection of Portuguese wines and craft beers to research. The glossy Sky Bar is the location to get a cocktail, followed by music and a sunset and perspectives to recall.
