Hotel Marincanto Positano

Approaching throughout the roof-level car park isn’t the best launch, but as soon as you’ve descended from the elevator to the main floor and its large, airy sitting room overlooking into the floral terrace with incredible views, the appeal and the magnificent position begin to do the job. The resort clings to the cliff face on the outskirts of Positano, together with the personal beach about ten minutes’ walk away down measures passing a few terraces. There are excellent views of the sea and town.

Design & personality

Palest colors or plain white, cream drapes and wooden furniture set the tone. Each detail is accomplished with flair and taste – that the result is refreshing and refined. Occasional splashes of color, such as acid green, or blue-striped cloths, provide a serene contrast.

Service & facilities

Hands-on owners make certain that the always friendly employees go the entire mile for their guests. The comparatively compact size imply guests genuinely feel cared, but the ceremony is anything but pliable. There’s a health center, an infinity pool and fitness center, and, in addition to the main terrace, there are lots of miniature terraces offering tranquil corners to settle back and unwind. The major bonus is that the private beach, which just a few Positano resorts can provide.

The 32 rooms are divided between the primary building and an annexe, the finest with balconies and ocean views. Two have private terraces. All these are well equipped, with TV, telephone, air-conditioning and minibar, and either a tub or shower. Both leading suites, Li Galli and the Honeymoon Suite, have a lot of wow factor along with equipment and facilities typical of high luxury resorts. Standard rooms are all different but all equipped with a helpful writing desk or table and an armchair.
