The hotel is excellently located on Hverfisgata Street, that is designated as Reykjavik’s first Green Road, and is a short stroll from buzzy high street Laugavegur and its related string of stores, cafes and pubs. The enchanting and increasingly stylish harbour area can be just down the street, as is the related Harpa Concert Hall and Convention Centre.
Style & personality
The resort includes six inter-connected houses which were originally constructed among Iceland’s best selling furniture factories, in performance from 1937-1963. Recently it had been used among city’s hottest cultural and music places, Faktory, and the inside was revived with nods to neighborhood style, culture and food: there is Icelandic Omnom chocolate available, water filtered by Icelandic lava, and a library specialising in biblical literature.
Service & amenities
The reception, that doubles as a concierge assistance, is good at providing tips on excursions, making suggestions and bookings for restaurants and theaters, and may also rent out bicycles at no cost. Whilst there isn’t any onsite health spa, the 24-hour exercise centre has rowing machines, weights and yoga mats also there is an occasion space on web site for meetings.
The suites and rooms take more local references concerning their color schemes, such as gray ‘volcanic stone’ and ‘sea blue’, the splashy regional artworks that scatter the walls, and touches such as music boxes that play adorable Icelandic lullabies. They are well appointed also, with big TVs, mini-refrigerators and deluxe bedding, and baths with heated floors. Suites provide even more room to stretch out at a living space and boast leading views of the city.
Food & beverage
Breakfast is served at the reception region (formally referred to as the Canopy Central Café) and contains a diverse and filling spread of fresh fruits, cold cuts, hot dishes, juices and yogurt. The café also houses an LP library with over 1,000 files, that are offered for visitors to play on 10 of their on-property record gamers.
The lobby also offers a delicatessen and coffee place, and organises beer and wine tastings, which occur on the patio during the winter months. The resort’s Geiri Smart restaurant includes a menu of Icelandic fish, dry-aged meats and local, organic dishes along with the associated pub serves a good selection of beers, wines and cocktails.

Accessibility for guests with disabilities?
The king and double available rooms comprise everything which the ‘Just Right’ rooms provide, with useful extras such as audio/strobe alarms, a specially-designed toilet and thoughtful use of space. Rooms are not located on the ground floor but there are lifts offered for all those flooring.
While rooms just accommodate up to two adults and one child (on a sofa-bed), the centers are families and possessions could reserve adjoining rooms.
