The Aviopolis channel for the brand new train loop into and from town center is directly outside the hotel’s most important door, therefore the km trip to the center and the five-minute jump to the airport are located on the doorstep. Taxi transportation is also an alternative. This is largely an area of aviation and offices buildings, but the Aviation Museum of Finland, a very absorbing distraction, is a two-minute walk from the resort. The huge Jumbo shopping mall is also a ten-minute bus journey off.
Style & personality
Clarion has an increasing presence in the area and exudes the sort of contemporary efficacy for which the area is known and appreciated. The crisp, occasionally elegant tones of this Clarion Hotel Helsinki Airport’s inside are no exception. The public places especially have a one of a kind and spaciously smart Finnish design, enhanced by photographs of nature. The management likes to explain it as a ’boutique airport resort’, but it’s a bit too large to justify the boutique description.
Service & amenities
Multilingual staff are well informed and useful, particularly in things regarding flight departures and transportation to and from town. The lobby is lined with cozy sofas and armchairs and shelves of coffee table books. The resort has a guest sauna and fitness area using the entire assortment of exercise equipment. Additionally, it asserts the fastest Wi-Fi at the Helsinki region.
Acclaimed Finnish interior designer Jaakko Puro contributed durable but modern elements to the resort rooms, such as brightly colored sofas and distinctive ornaments that comparison with a general black and gray motif that’s surprisingly relaxing. Bathrooms include kettles, coffee and tea makers, minibars, irons and ironing boards, hair dryers, wooden work desks and wooden allergy-friendly parquet flooring.
Bathrooms are bright and clean tiled, with baths or walk-in closets; and, in Deluxe and Suite rooms, both. Towels are supplied in two colors to prevent confusion about who uses that. Ambient lighting control was made to alter the mood. Rooms are soundproofed, therefore arrivals and departures in the local runways cause no interference, along with the binoculars supplied in rooms around the airport are a wonderful touch for airplane spotters.
Food & beverage
The entire buffet breakfast, together with oven-fresh cereal, bread, cold cuts, cheeses, eggs and fruit, and lactose-free and fermented possibilities, can be obtained here and a limited supply of cereal, fruit and breads is served from 4.30 a.m for early birds with morning flights to grab. The major Kitchen & Table restaurant menu has been imagined in part by chef Marcus Samuelsson and has a flavor of classic Manhattan-style cuisine in addition to some less timeless alternatives like kimchi hamburgers.
Bar snacks, neighborhood Finnish beers and fascinating cocktails are served in the pub. Brightly coloured utensils and furniture, such as sweet orange and yellow pepper and salt mills, give the area a stylish, cheerful atmosphere.
